Madison

A friend of mine asked me to do a painting for her daughter's room since they've just re-done it! She ordered this adorable bedding from Wake Up Frankie! So cute!! It's all dots - turquoise, black, and white. This is the picture from the website, not Madison's room (even though the initial shown here is an M!) Madison is a 6th grader, so I didn't want to paint something that was too little girlish (is that a word??), so I went with the pattern in a picture board that she has in her room.
this is the picture from www.wakeupfrankie.com

this is a picture of Madison's bedding with the damask fabric that was used on her picture board
Here's the finished product! The only "dots" that I used was the large center circle and then accented with some pearly white dots around that circle. And totally off topic, but I really need to take these pictures in better light or somewhere else in my house because these aren't that great!!

Some stripes on the side!

I think this will grow with her as long as she keeps these colors in her room! Hope you enjoy, miss Madison!

Butterflies for Lexi & Emily

Emily Grace Jones joined my cousin's family about a month ago, making Lexi a big sister. I wanted to paint something for the girls' room as a gift to them. It wasn't a suprise so I got to go check out the bedding in the room to match up colors. Lexi has really cute striped bedding, and they've accented with butterflies in the room. This is what I came up with! Love it. It's the first time I've done 2 names on 1 canvas.

I am really liking how the fabric paint gives a 3-dimensional look to the canvas. I hope it lasts okay!

I really like this font....it's super fun

I can't wait to see it in their room!

On a Roll

This one was done super fast.....I guess I'm on a roll with these boards. Good thing since I've had several peopler request one! This one is for our house. I usually do stuff for other people, but this time I wanted something for us! It hangs in our kitchen nook area. I took down a canvas painting I had from Hobby Lobby and put this in it's place. I like this much better. The only thing I wish it had was a big frame around it........I may try to hunt down a cheap one at a thrift store. This one is sized 24inx36in, and I used a piece of MDF.

Family Rules #2!!

These are so fun to make! I just finished this one and put it onto canvas......I think I like glueing down to wood better for these. It seems to come out smoother, but canvas is a whole lot lighter for shipping. This one is for Janda's sister, who is having a birthday next month. I was told she likes to decorate with cowgirl/western things, so I tried to find paper that was a good mix of cowgirl and other patterns like paisley and dots. I found some really cute "suede" and "denim" paper at the scrapbooking store here. If you've never been in there, she has a pretty good selection of paper to choose from. I'm just about to start a Family Rules board for our house, and it's going to hang in our kitchen nook area. It's going to be kind of big, but I think it will look good there. Pictures to come...........

Aubyn's Nursery

Janda sent me a picture of the canvas hanging in sweet baby Aubyn's room. I luuuurve how they painted one of the walls hot pink. I think it adds so much to her room. The other walls are pretty tone on tone green stripes. Thanks for sending the picture, Janda! It looks beautiful in her room!

Brinley's Art and Kerri's Canvas

I just completed 2 canvases as gifts! The first was for my cousin Charla's sweet new baby girl, Brinley. Her bedding is gorgeous.....lovin' the black and white again. Here's a pic of the bumper, one side patterned and the other striped.

I wanted to add a little color, so the backrground was a very pale turquoisish gray, and the lettering is in red.

polka dots for the border!

a side view of the stripes

And onto the next one......this is a picture of my sister-in-laws bedding. It's adorable......from Anthropologie. She wanted a big canvas, 2ft by 4ft, to hang over the bed. She requested the big flower. So, here is what I came up with!

I like the simplicity of just the large flowers. I was going to add something else, but decided the canvas would look too crowded if I did. The background color is a shade of green.

Close up of the flowers....I haven't seen it hanging yet, but hope this is what she wanted!

Janda's Art

I just finished two paintings for my sweet friend, Janda. The first was for Adyson, her 3 year old, and the second one was for Aubyn, baby girl due any day!!

This is what Ady's bedding looks like. Actually, this is what it was like, but she had it cut up and re-sewn into big girl bedding. The pattern is called Scribbles.

Ady's painting

I took these pictures at night in my bedroom, and they didn't turn out well. With the flash they were too bright, and without they were too dark......So when Janda gets them up in the girls' rooms, maybe she can send me some better pictures and I can post them! I put 1 Samuel 1:27 on Ady's painting at Janda's request!

little flowers on the sides; you can see the dark brown scribbles in this picture

And here's Aubyn's bedding....isn't it to die for??!!?? It's Cocalo Harlow Couture bedding. I love the color combination. They painted an accent wall in her nursery of hot pink, which looks amazing with the green and black.

This one's a monster, ya'll. It was 4feet long by 2feet wide. I have to admit, it's my favorite one to date that I've painted. Lots of tedious drawing, but worth it!

Another shot of the full length

I wanted a pearl look around the border, so I used FABRIC PAINT! I didn't know if it would work, but it did! Love how that part turned out.

The edges are striped, like on the crib bumper

Don't you love her name??

Can't wait for your arrival, Aubyn Elizabeth!
